Week one was very interesting. It was hot majority of the time, and there are way too many idiots on this trip. I went to the Forum everyday this week- I hope I don't have to go again for at least a few days.
Highlights: Euphronios Krater at the Villa Giulia, Pope John Paul II's tomb, Necropolis underneath St. Peter's, and Orvieto.
I got to go the the American Academy in Rome with the grads and Nick & Justin. It was a great. The taxi ride to Termini was also fun.
We went out for the night on Thursday- had a Gin Limonsoda- thought it was going to be good- I was wrong. The plan is to stick with the wine. There was also some interesting conversations that night- religious conversation- Isn't that one of the topics that you shouldn't discuss with people?
Classes are about to begin for the week- then Venice for the weekend. I don't want to leave Europe.
Talked to Justin (my advisor) about my thesis ideas- don't feel as stressed, but still quite nervous. I'm glad that Shannon is working with him as well.
Can't wait to sweat more tomorrow!
